Just done my CT, engine out and back in, in 3 hours

Woody, all you need is ramps, a 13mm and 17mm spanners and the same in sockets, 9 nuts and the engine drops out the bottom, 6 allen key bolts for the clutch, 8 bolts for ya mounts and bobs ya aunties live in lover... £470 seems to be well ott

The Garage could be covering themselves and maybe even toting for work. Change the engine mounts first and if that don't fix it think about the clutch. The cross member engine mounts are a classic for working after a style even though completelly broken due to their failsafe design. But depending on the model make sure the mechanics around the clutch lever/actuator are good and tight. Juddering clutches are usually caused by some kind of mechanical feedback or unplanned servo action induced by the relationship between take up and traction. An example of this is that in a cable operated system the torque rotates or otherwise moves the engine/gearbox assembly as the drive takes up. This backs the pedal off momentarilly causing a cyclic action which manifests as judder. This can even be caused simply by loose or missing fixings. Engine mount changeing ain't rocket science and just needs the engine supporting and maybe the rear cross member dropping for access. I got mine from JK but I understand they are readily available from other sources. I didn't even drop my engine!

Thanks for that mate , i dont mind paying my way and dont expect any favours but when your a full time dad and do a part time eve job to make ends meet, its not nice to know you are being over charged

Woody's it's the 80-90 way... where in East Sussex are ya?

could be the gearbox mount, mine's f**ked and judders when i pull away with plenty of rev's.

p.s. anyone know where i can get one for 2l Aircooled, the're 135 nicker at jk
