No it comes off the inlet manifold just above the left hand bank

A van of mine I was working on yesterday with the exactly the same symptons!
After much head scratching lead swapping retiming, carb playing and a then the compression test turned out that the rocker valve assembly had loosened right off somehow on one side (the right hand) BUT unbelievably it was still runnin ok- well sort of anyway!
Easy to check, jus pop the rocker cover off n wobble the valve bar! This was my problem so if you have the same be good to kno I'm not the only one!

Thanks for all the help
I taped up the servo vacuum hose and i now have an engine that is not jumping all over the place and is at least firing on 4 cylinders.

IMHO This IS 180 out (mine is the same as the other pics, with the leads exiting the dizzy on the respective side as the cylinders)
However, it doesn't matter as long as the sparks get where they should and at the right time.
It just means someone put the dizzy in 180 deg out.
