Thanks for that. Blimey... these are 215/70R16? I'm alittle worried they may be alittle too big. Any touching? Does engine struggle (what engine?)?

I think you are going to struggle to get them to work on a 14" without body mods and a gearing change... thats a hell of a big tyre... you might just get away with it, but I would expect clearance issues, need to check the rear swing arms... that tyre is around 8.6% bigger...

No touching as yet, but I haven't properly off roaded them yet. As I said though my last tyres were bigger and they never touched even doing some decent green laning (Sarn Helen). Engine is intercooled AAZ and is fine. I do use third quite a lot around town though due to the gearing (I need to hit 40mph to run happily in 4th).

If you're ever over in Bristol you could try out my old 225/75 R15s (still on merc steels) to see how your engine manages. If it handles those it'd be fine with 215/70 R16s. I was planning to strip them and sell the decent tyres cos some are knackered, but haven't got round to it yet

Okay, thanks for offer Smokey but think I'm just going to go for it.
Been on the TYRE SIZE CALCULATOR And they say that the 215/70 R16 are just 23mm (of 3.36%) bigger than the syncro stock 205 R14 that I've got on there at the moment. (I'm guessing its 80 as tyre doesn't state...is that right?)
A diameter of 684mm compared to 707mm.
I'll give it ago & we'll see.

Well, there on....& I'm £325 lighter.
Tyre calculator was wrong, at a max they are 690mm across. Turned out to be around 27/28mm bigger than stock 205 syncro tyres, so hasn't made much difference to gearing & the steering feels so much lighter... :? but true. They are quite mild AT so road noise is much better.
All in all, well happy with the look & drive.

No clearance issues & yet they fill the arches lovely.
Fitters had good fun getting them on 7x16 rims...They were cursing & having to use the 'Tyre cheater' loads. Deafening everyone in the building.....
