nice one peps,i took the window out of the sliding door today ,its not good :( .....or it wasnt till i put some steel back.the thing was in danger of falling out ,lots of filler n rust holding it in.not rusty metal ,actual rust ,the stuff that crumbles in ya fingers.
im ok at the welding bit but its the finish that im not the best at.the filling and sanding takes me ages :(

I know what you mean about filling and sanding it does my tree in. I need to learn when to stop. Mine was all crumbly apart from the bodge i did to to cover the hole the pressure washer made :? Good news is it's ok behind the fridge :ok

you tend to start off thinking that a good enough job will do but when it actually comes down to it you realise that if you make pigs ear of the filling and sanding ,that bit will be in the back of your mind forever and everyone who see's it and says..that looks alright..really means..bloody hell he's made a right pigs ear of that.so you make it your mission to get it right regardless of the hair that your pulling out

good news about the back of the fridge tho :ok

Woohoo! 12 hours today and i have removed the n/s window cut out the rust (well around the holes) and plated it preped and painted both sides, removed the slider door window and tinted the n/s rear and o/s middle windows also took the air vents off de-rusted painted and waxoyled. Probably done more but cant think right now. I'm up to about 50 photo's so far. I have taken a few too many to do a wiki bit but if anyone wants to see a particular bit let me know.

I have given up on appearance. I renamed the van "patchy" cause of all the poor finish. As long as it is structurally sound and I make it from A to B without using the AA I'm happy.

Not the Van's but the first since I bought it. Hence "my" (should have explained better) It's only taken 2 years and getting myself out of debt to get to this stage. Looking forward to her first trip. Surfing in May hopefully then possibly some T25 weekends.
