wow rich what a guy! this weekend i'm on the case and hopefully like you will have my sweet running bus back again. only thing that makes me apprehensive is i can hear buzzing through back right vent right above the light which reading your info makes me worry that theres a problem in there. anyway ta for your post and i'll let you know the outcome. mart

well, checked things out over the weekend and it would appear that the iscu is knackered.thanks to all who posted and offered advice but one last thing,anyone know where i can get hold of one? thanks again mart.

CJ at Syncrospares.
You'll need to provide him with the part number on it, as there are quite a few versions.

hi rich ta for the contact,im new to the forum so dont have a list of contacts do you or does anyone have a contact number for cj at syncronauts? the part no is 251 907 393c. when the replacement is fitted i'll report back. thanks for all the help mart

hey rich sorry for the massive delay as ive been away.the iscu arrived in my absence and fitted it before,re connected said plug from the coil and YES it was all hunky dory.took my bus out for a spin and alls well,returning to 800 rpm at idle so thanks to all who replied and offered help and advice. incidentally with regards to the part no,mine ends 393A which luckily syncrospares had but vw assure me that 393A was replaced with 393B and 393C so in theory theyre all the same. ta again martin
