aha, this is useful stuff to know. I would be quite keen to put a hitop on for practical reasons, so its good news that it won't cost more in fuel. :D

hey but a hitop could still save money on heating as I can't quite figure out how to insulate my poptop without glueing something onto it, and without that getting fouled up when the roof folds down... If only a space blanket was a bit more like rubber :idea

Be carefull with under bumper spoilers. Had a deep aftermarket one on my 1.9 watercooled pop top - yes it helped stabilty in crosswinds but used to ground out at any opportunity and caused brakes to cook when going up and down Swiss mountain passes. Took it off and it made no apparent difference to fuel consumption.
