I bought a 1.9wbx with every intention of fitting a subaru into it. Haven't got round to fitting a subaru in yet, but i am looking for a suitable donor at the moment

As said in previous threads buy a car and drive it. You will then know it will be ok and save any grief. Then sell the scrap.

Food for thought. What a satisfying motor to have built. Now wheres the instruction manual for that Record Student lathe?.

Why the hesitation? Youve seen all the good stuff said and I for one will back it up. If you want power and far better economy than 18 to the gallon(vw book spec on a 2.1 wbx on a run and 16pmg round town!) then fit a Subaru.
Mine is a 2.2 and does 30mpg. A 2.5 quad cam is about 25pmg.
The dark side aint so dark when youve got ya foot slammd down halfway and your still passing wbx powered motors.
