I did this, but by brush, with a similar paint tp combicolour called permobel, in 1990, the bus was 18 yrs sold then, and as rusty as hell, hence the de-seamed roof gutter, the T3 is defo much better put together. I nearly did this on my syncro, to replicate the Finnish army camo pattern that went before.

Yeah thats the one. Much easier to hide stuff with a camo job too.

Yup for a complete colour change send your reg doc to DVLA with colour amended.

Yes the Moparts thread was my original inspiration a few years back but the description wasn't too helpful so decided to get stuck in and learn the hard way plus tailor it to suit the T25 as well as our wonderful weather. Took me ages to discover that 'mineral spirits' were in fact white spirit.

This paint is also great for up-and-over garage doors too by the way. As for the T25 being better built - undoubtedly. Chassis particularly.

Just had a close look around the van. I would expect at least two more coats will be needed to get a completely even colour match, then maybe another coat to ensure there's enough to allow for polishing back. When I rub it down I tend to go through on sharp edges, so careful attention is needed in these areas. (This is also the case when spraying I am told (brother is/was a spray painter for many years).
Now, anybody got any good ideas for the interior?

The sponge brushes are ok for interior paint where showing. A good few coats on steps is important as we all tend to use those as a slide when getting out and get the ravages of jean studs and anything else in your pockets I find.

However, because the door seals contact these areas, they need at least 24 hours to harden so bear that in mind. Next year I'm doing a general flat all over and applying two more coats of Rustoleum next May. Its much easier to spot troublesome areas now the paint has been on for over a year too.

Looks really good Especially with the different colour down the middle !

What would you recommend I paint my hightop roof with? Would I need a special paint to get it to stick onto fibreglass/plastic?

Tend to agree CovKid. Just got a lot of interest, shows how good the topic is. Maybe it should be locked down, or added to Wiki or whatever.

Dead inspired now I'm currently tarting up my Autosleeper VHT and originally wanted a re-spray - however I'm happy with the solution I've come up with now so no worries there. However, I've also got a 71 bay (lowlighter) which has been undergoing major surgery for some time now but will hopefully be needing a new paint job around the middle of next year.

I've decided I'm going to go for it and do it meself. Me and the Mr Other Half had even been contemplating a camouflage effect but were unsure as to where you could get this done. Where better than on your own driveway?

What would be inspiring also is if we can get more pictures up of vans after they have been painted. The more varying colours the better.

here is mine, I did it a few weeks ago, i rushed it abit as i didnt have a lot of time and i wanted to give it some protection over winter. In the spring i will flat it back it do it better. Notice the guy getting a speeding ticket in the bottom picture.. I need a new windscreen if anyone has one?

Just an idea for mods. Maybe call this "rollered van gallery only" - that should keep everyone happy!
