yep, but it may only be acting up under load......
subtitution is the best way, or bridge the wires out after unplugging it see if the right thing happens.......

sorry to be a pain Steve, which wires should I bridge (hot wiring I'm guessing)

thanks for all the replies folks.
Sourced the problem, when I got the battery moved form the front to the back 2 years ago by an auto electricians. The wiring they did was more Yeehaa than Clint Eastwood or John Wayne. Just spent an hour sorting out various dodgy connections under the front seat
