id like to thank you all for your help, ive decided not to go ahead with this one,im not 100% happy, and my instincts have been quite good to me over the years,instead im gonna sort my diesel panel van out,its shonky as hell, but i know the van, just wish my bloody chest prob would clear up so i can do it myself and not have to pay someone to do it

Only true way to tell if its goosed or not is to performa an oil pressure test with a seperate gauge.. but it could be down to the fact the oil change was done with thin oil.. these engines dont like thin oils.. a 15w40 was what they needed from new so age doesnt help... if its been driven like that then it tells you someting about the owner..

the oil he used for an oil change came out of an unmarked tub and "he got it from work".besides gonna get my scrap look panel done now instead
