With remote Danfoss compressor mounted in battery box, on rubber plinth.
Simon.
Hi Simon, Any tips on installing the Bluebird bed, also the compressor in the battery box? How did you pass the refrigerant pipes from the box to the fridge? cheers Patrick.

Hi Patrick,

I particularly wanted large amounts of storage on the engine deck, so I raised the bluebird bed up 2 inches. Other than that I had to slightly modify the rear attachment points that go to the bulkhead (hammered them flat) and just bolted it through the floor. I did not use the closing plate thingy, nor the lever which is supposed to operate the bed mechanism. I actually re welded the front section that has the board in it to make it taller, rather than lifting it on blocks. Now we have four persons clothes and coats kept nice and toasty on the engine.

The Danfoss compressor has quite flexible copper pipes in an insulated covering. I cut a channel out of the batterybox to slip the pipes in, and then just pop riveted another piece back over afterwards.
