Yep, on gas, hydrocarbons at 3000! Running richer than a butchers turd! I was doing 70 on the way to work - I normaly do 60 - on petrol to blast out any gunk from the valves and cylinders, and I'll do the same tonight. On the motoway obviously! It feels better and faster already, likes it's on nitros. I wish anyway. Just need the autobox to stop slipping and I'll be fine!

they deffo havnt tinkered with vaporoiser / power valve(you got manual PV?) thinking they were helping ? v high emissions , spec for gas!!(arnt hydrocarbond menat to be 80/90% less? if it drives fine/alot better on petrol, and emissions are mentally high, it points to a fault in the gas system ? would leaking spindles have this much affect and wouldnt the extra air lean the mixure out ? bloody cars!:D

When I had the conversion done, Steve had to turn it up to the max cos it was leaking air badly through the spindles, and was making it run week at speed etc. He advised me to get the spindles done, then turn the mixture down. And obviously I haven't done that yet! I have a set of spindles ready to go on as stated above, and I think this combined with a fouled plug have sent the emissions even higher than they already were. Unless one of the new plugs I put on 2 weeks ago is faulty and not firing? I'm gonna take off the soiled plug before I take it in and give it a good clean and burn off the oil with a blow torch. Hopefully then it'll give a good reading. If not, there might be a wanted ad for a 2ltr CU engine. :(

Run it on petrol for a few days, took it up to around 75 (120 kmh) on the motorway, to burn any oil off and it seemed to do the trick- I could feel the limiter kicking in! HC emissions were down to 294. Still a little rich but a pass anyway. The oil had gone off the plug, it was just a little sooted so I wire brushed it off, and put a big dollop of grease on the ends of the carbs spindles as a temporary fix, and it has done the trick. Mind you, it occasionally runs lumpy on petrol, so I think there may be water in the tank or something, so I can see me having to drop that in the near future and checking all the pipes and attachments are ok and not rotten. But for now I have a 12 month ticket :D
All that remains is to sort out the autobox as it slips considerably!
