Ah.. what 2.1 dizzy is it?
use the DG dizzy as the vac signal and advance curve is different on the 2.1 DJ... MV has no advance.... what 2.1 engines are they? MV/DJ/SS or a DG with 2.1 crank? what camshaft are they running?

I know a load of questions but there are differences between the 2.1 stuff and the 1.9 dg stuff.. and what timing advance you can run in those conditions..

I fitted a 5 speed in place of my 4-speed that was in my van originally.
2.1 on gas. 5 - speed is slightly better on fuel.
I didn't change any of the linkage. but I have to push down for 1st.
I could have modified or changed to 5 speed linkage. but I didn't

OK Simon,
I will try...

when we changed from the 1.9 to the 2.1 we used the 1.9 ancillaries....deffo the 1.9 dizzy. She was a bit sluggish.....and I had some discussion on here as to whether she should have the 2.1 dizzy if there was such a thing. Transpired there was, with a different curve thingy, and that CJ could supply one. Purchased and installed. Bit better but nowt major. Are you saying there is more than one 2.1 dizzy as well??? (sound of hair pulling out)

as for the other stuff...I really don't know  The one in the camper came from billy739 with I believe the DJ code.... I will have to pull the paperwork for both vans to be sure.

Are you saying it needs the 1.9 dizzy back? Is that coz it is running on the carb? sorry, bit confused here!

**note to self - never EVER ask a quick question on here again!!!!!!

Thanks

Simon - you are not in the area again are you....if you want any more boxes perhaps you could cast you eye over the wagon in question.... :D

Actually I shall be in Kent on Sunday... but no room and prob not any time... but we shall see!!! Will be over in Dec so could allocate some time then!!!

Well.. I have used the DG dizzy on the 2.1 dg I have and also a mates... both mine and his go well..

I ran my DJ'd DG with timing at 10 BTDC and on LPG and super plus (98/99) petrol..
he ran 5 deg and 95 UL...

The MV distributor doesnt have any vac advance as far as I am aware... so you can spot that easy...

make sure the vac advance units are actually working and time up for 7.5-10 BTDC... running on LPG... or 98/99 UL...
