Cheers
Had 12.5 volts on a big tractor batery so power couldnt have been a problem... it just did nowt...
I have a manual and all it says is volts, or a diagnostic tool required...
if its had too many restarts and failed then that also stops them from coming on, but only can only be cleared by uing the diagnostic tool supposedly...
Suppose thats what I will have to do then...

Where do you get a diagnostic tool from and what exactly does it do ? I bet it costs a fortune.
I would love to see what such a tool would say when mine fails to start occasionally.... Can you keep them connected permanently ?
Thanks
Ringo

Dear Toomanytoys,
Mine wont start unless I have 13.6volts, I think that its just one of those 'Eberpacher' things.
If you find a way that it will start up at a lower voltage please let me know.

I fitted one to a Landrover a few years ago. Your right - without 13.5 volts it won't start. I had same problem, battery in front, heater at back. Only cure to constant niggling problem is make the wires thick enough. I got hold of really heavy cable, about 5mm thick, from auto electrician. That fixed it. Voltage drop is the main problem in long distance fixings. Talk to an Eberspacher agent or good auto electrician.

Krisis , thought i had posted the tech link ? look at your model and the notes will give you wire thickness/length
