They don't have to be welded, but it makes it so much easier to get the belts in and out if they are.

Could I take you up on your kind offer regarding the old belts?

I'll get the mounting plates ordered from JK this evening.

Update number 3. they are in !!!!

So, the job wasn't as bad as I expected. The real nightmare was getting the old lap belts out as the bolts had corroded under the van and we ended up angle grinding the heads off (sorry old lap belts are now trashed). Really needed two people to fit and tighten the new bolts and mountings.

Getting the new mountings in for the inertia reel was straightforward. Simple case of drilling a hole in the van and a few spot welds through the vents. The JK belts were fine for my 3/4 seat and I didn't need the extender.

I'll stick some pictures up later.

Help! (sorry for hi-jacking this thread though!)

I'm in the same position here, needing to fit 2 three point belts in the back (got two lapbelts in at the mo') for new baby seat and toddler's booster. Thing is I'm a mechanical numpty with no tools and no time (new baby!) I wondered a couple of things:

1 - what JK bits would I need (lost the thread a bit earlier!)
2 - what about the side with the kitchen/cupboards on it? (driver side)
3 - could I mount a 3 point belt high up on the SINGLE REAR FACING seat and put a floor stem in (is stem the right word? I mean the bit that you put the belt into?)

I'll be getting help/Halfords to fit it hopefully if a suitable arrangement can be found.

1 - Belts -> J13005 These MUST be mounted vertically
Mounting plates -> J11582 AT LEAST 2 per belt. You may need more if you don't have lap belts fitted
2 - I had to remove the cupboard
3 - Yes, as long as you can get mounting plates behind the points where you want the inertia reel and belt guide to go and also the intertia reel to belt guide path is clear and vertical.
