yeh sorry guys :oops:
i guess the point i was making was that yes so-called pre tuned aerials will work, but you can usually make them that bit better by tuning them. and with only 4 or 5 watts transmit power you really need to get the best from them.
don't be put off by techno babble :lol: it took me 10 minutes to fit mine in a layby whilst the mrs was walking the dogs.

thanks all , got an swr on ebay and the guy helped me set it up has to put a swivel between my gutter mount and aerial so it was way out when we checked it , 4 on the top and 3 lower channels, got it down to 1.5 or 1.6 now and im getting about 3 miles broadcast , pick up about 3-5 depends on home or mobile , i took your adice mocki and put on a new aerial and mount from thunderpole had to trim aerial an inch but its working fine now and if anyone want a hand fitting no problem and i have an swr ill bring it to vanwest with me if you want to set your rig up .
