A mate has a reader. I will borrow that and give it a go. It's what made it come on in the first place that's puzzling.

If that doesn't work do what I did get rid and only buy a car with a OBD if it has a warranty I got rid of my bmw because a bmw specialist wanted me to pay so he could guess at the fault I only did it once

If all else fails do a "Ferranti Reset", disconnect the battery leave for a while then reconnect, go or run it for about 20 mins and see if that helps/resolves the issue.

Wow, that takes me back 37 years.!!
Sebastian De Ferranti, my first employer in 1984.

The reset method you describe is a well used process discussed on Post 2002 Vauxhall forums. (Except Corsa-D).

Although the method I advise is...
Ensure the ignition is off
Unlock the doors, open a window just incase, and close but do not lock the door.
Wait 5 mins for all ECUs to go to sleep
Disconnect battery
Wait 15 mins
Reconnect battery
Wait 5 mins for all ECUs to reboot.
Start the car as normal and hopefully the fault has cleared.

An ECU reset on the T6 is with battery disconnect and also short the positive and negative cables together to achieve a capacitive discharge of the capacitors in the circuits - works quite well in solving strange errors.

That does not sound like a good way to discharge capacitors.
But if that is a recommended VW method, then who am I to argue...
