Is it the plastic ( could be metal) that runs around the hatch ? I think I have a spare

If it was the one that I need I could buy your spare off you if you were happy with that, I don't suppose you could take a photo tomorrow possibly just so I can see if it looks similar to the one that's in the van.

That is known as the "bleed ring" in layman’s terms .
you could repair that with three bits of rubber pipe and a "t" piece

you should be able to source a used one , the newer ones are plastic so don’t rust

put a wanted advert on here , someone will have a spare I’m sure

Hi Steve, thanks for the reply. When you say it could be repaired with three bits of rubber pipe and a "T" piece where would I get those from? my mechanical knowledge is very limited hence I'm not doubting what your saying its just from looking at it, where the metal elbow has sheared off it doesn't look like it could be repaired but I could be wrong. Where would the three bits of rubber pipe and T piece go would they be patched into the bleed ring? greatly appreciating your input :)

I've had a look on Heritage parts centre and they sell for around the engine Bay Area for vw t25 1.9DG engines. But it says on the website they are made to order and can take about 12 weeks for delivery.

The website has a photo and this does appear to be the type that I need:

Any good motor factors should have the right size rubber pipe and "t" piece , all. You need to do is replace the rotten bit. Frankly if your garage can’t work that out, they shouldn’t be working on your van imho

Brickwerks has new:

If you fix or obtain second hand, obv better, but you can get them.

E D I T - been informed this is pickup truck only - won’t fit. Ignore me Image

For mot, they could just cut the pipe and put a straight hose in for now. The bleed screw on top of the thermostat is probably blocked anyway, so it's doing nowt useful!

That's for a pickup, won't fit a van.

Ah…

My bad.
Was sure they used to sell the plastic ones too, but couldn’t find them.

Had to buy plastic when man-handling mine too roughly a few years ago
