Hi Guys
Is it possible that Newbie's previous owner was putting in an additive to counteract the corrosive effects of Bioethanol, which is now in the petrol mix?
See my post about the forthcoming changes to Regular Petrol, in September.

I think it more likely they thought the van would not run on unleaded so added a lead replacement to the fuel.
