Thanks, never realised this was an issue as rarely drive at night or in conditions requiring the lights, another issue resolved hopefully.

Update on this, just checked my bills from brickworks and it seems I only replaced temp2 switch and thermostat, I did not replace gauge sensor. So I reckon the old thermostat was an 80c one and it now reads higher because I fitted an 87c. It suggests to me that it is working properly.
