There we are- 'gelcoat and surface restorer' from Owatrol

For owners and lovers of VW T25 (T3) Vans

I've probably used about half, and Ive done approx one and a half coats. I got it on eBay for approx £30.. I'd go for the litre if I were you, incase of further coats. I did the worst area of mine twice, and it definitely benefited from the second coat.mariner wrote:How much did you end up using in the end Slowcoach? I've found suppliers who do 500ml tins online - is this enough or did you end up using most of the 1ltr tin? Cheers

Ten years on (!), would you still recommend this product as a protective coat for an elderly fibreglass poptop?
Many thanks for any advice.
I'm curious how you think the Owatrol might work out on a white (light cream maybe?) pop top? I was checking out their site and they say that this stuff is only good for color gelcoat because it's a color restorer. Makes me curious whether it's clear or tinted in some way? I can't imagine that restoring dark blue or brown gelcoat color would be the same as bright yellow or light blue etc. All I'm shooting for is brightening up my gelcoat and bringing its gloss back, do you figure this stuff might work out in that case also?slowcoach wrote: ↑27 Apr 2020, 06:37Emerald84 wrote: Dear slowcoach,

not ten years! although it does say i joined 10 years agoi did this in february this year.
Yes id definitely reccomend it- i didnt find any other product that did the same thing (penetrate the fibreglass with a solvent and reseal it)
