Only trouble is, looks like the oil filler pipe is not available anywhere.
Can't find one new or 2nd hand.
Looks like the one for the CU engine is different from the others and no longer available.
Can't find a 2nd hand one either.
I don't suppose anyone knows where I might find one ?

Davidoft1 will probably have one, or just weld up / repair your existing one

So, would the procedure for removing engine mounts be:
- Jack up, support the van.
- Support the engine.
- Remove the exhaust
- Remove the fan housing.
- Remove engine support bar with mountings from engine and van.

Finally got the oil filler pipe off after much grief (should have dropped the engine )
Here's what I've found

Finally the end is in sight. Just the alternator, exhausts and associated air pipe gubbins to go back on and hoping to make Run To The Hun on Sunday.
I think I found the reason that the oil cooler pipe had worn away until it split. The bolts connecting the engine mount bracket to the crankcase were loose, not even finger tight, which would allow the entire engine to move excessively in relation to the mounting/bearer bar, and hence the oil filler pipe would have been rubbing/knocking on the bar.
Engine mounts seemed not too bad, but I replaced them anyway.
I also found the oil pump caked in gunk - see 1st picture. Not sure if it was the oil pump itself or the crank seal, but I've pump gasket and crank seal anyway.
As you will see from the 2nd picture, I'm not sure if the oil pump actually had a gasket, unless the yellow coating counts as a gasket.

Well it is possible for the rear crankcase oil seal to leak, but that is a considerable grime...

The problem to change the seal in situ is considerable, as you have to remove the turbine support..

I would suggest a really good clean, and then see if the seal or pump leaks...

Be honest, you will have to drop the engine eventually, when you do heads and barrels, so it'll just be one more thing on the list...

Sorry, made a bit of a typo and didn't make myself clear. I already did change the pump gasket and crank oil seal. The final picture is afterwards. Now reassembling for run to the hun, I hope.
Yep no doubt I will have to drop the engine sometime. I'll feel a lot more confident about doing that with what I've learned this time.
