What about waiting for someone to offer up an engine on here, they come up from time to time, they just swap them over and sell the old one.
Like I said, I,m considering all my options at the moment, and have been in contact with a couple on here as well as others.
I,m not rushing into this, I want to make the right choice for me.
Thanks,
tim

is it time to maybe consider a diesel conversion??
I've just put a Skoda aef 1.9d in mine and I'm pretty pleased with it. Managed to get one with a verified 65,000 miles on it and it's really quiet and a big improvement on the 1.6d that was fitted. Doesn't take that much fettling to make it fit.

Engine fettling doesn't scare me. Back in the day of the Skoda estelles, I used to fit datsun cherry engines in them,
when you couldn't get your hands on a bad skoda engine, let alone a good one.

Wee removals in Belfast or somewhere up north (077)6293 0234 do a round trip to the UK each week and delivered an engine to me in West Cork for a good price. Might be worth a call if you were considering have a rebuild done in the UK...

I would ring him if I were you. I don't think he reads PMs regularly.
