Going to do the oil pump. There's a big pipe that runs across the front of it. It's not mentioned in the Haynes. Can I just unbolt it?

I gave in and cut my 25l water container in half vertically

Works a treat for catching every drop af £30 of new antifreeze

Oil pump arrived. Went to take water pipe off but still half of oil pump cover would be inaccessible. Does the engine have to come out to replace oil pump?

I removed all the tin ware & crank pulley
removed main exhaust heat shield bolts
lowered engine bar and removed it leaving the engine on the jack.
Unbolted coolant bottle bracket from exh heatshield
then rolled exhaust heatshield round out of the way.
you also might need a puller to get the oil pump out.

Sounds a lot but pretty straightforward.
