Ha! Yes, bog roll! I know from experience how amazingly important that sometimes is. I'll be bulk buying on that front.
A friend of mine also converted me to the wonders that are wet-wipes, which I'll also be buying en mass. I went on a trip with her once (in an overly flowery T2) and was very skeptical when she produced them for the first time, but by the end of the first week I was a happy wet-wipe-washer, and am now addicted. Although sometimes I worry that trip was the turning point in my life when I went from macho young man to domesticated potential house-husband. (The flower business didn't help.)

Also. toomanytoys, I see you are in Central France, I'm currently in Tours at the moment and was wondering if you knew of 1. A good garage and 2. A place where I can buy those thermo mat thingys? I hear they are the DBs; I was in the Alpes a few weeks ago and EVERYONE had them. I'm hoping they work just as well in reverse too, in the heat.
Thanks. And thanks as well to everyone else. Hopefully not, but maybe your advise might get me out of trouble in the furture!

Good luck,
Abs. make DEAD certain your gearbox is not dripping a drop of oil, 'cos if it is, and it continues and that eventually packs in (as they do) then you're fcuk'ed - no mechanic will get you out of that one easily!
As someone said, the very best strong tyres
Did anyone say a footpump, and a 12V tyre pump..
Spare fuel filter, and have the current one changed before you leave,
gallons an at elast 2 changes of oila nd filters to match.
A big jemmy!
Good luck again.. go for it

I'm not sure where, but there was an article in a VW mag? about a trip through China and beyond in a VW T25. It may have been VW Camper & Commercial mag. Anyway this guy and his family (young baby) travelled extensively throughout China and neigbouring countries.
It may be possible to get in touch with him -via the mag - as I'm sure he would give you all the invaluable 'hands on info' you would ever need.
I'm guessing that an 80-90 member may be able to research their old copies of VW.Camper & Commercial for a contact number for you.
This chap may have a website as well?
