It could be something as easy as a crankshaft oil seal OR have they put semi-synthetic oil in instead of mineral ? That would explain why it's pi$$ing out everywhere. Do you have an itemised bill ? To give you an idea ... the oil filler tube is ~£70 .. https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/t3-parts/e ... d-wbx.html

If the engine was running ok BEFORE the initial oil change it should still run ok now. I wouldn't put too much trust in their compression test results OR their invoice.

I've got semi synth 10-40 oil in my newly built engine.
I was expecting the VW garage to put mineral oil in.
I know its been asked a million times - but is it a BIG problem having Semi Synth oil rather than mineral ?
Obviously mineral is the original spec oil available at the time (& semi synth is more modern & thinner than mineral) - shouldn't it be ok if the relevant spec is used :-) :run, or is using semi synth asking for trouble

Newly built you should be fine ... an old engine that's been run on the correct 14/40 mineral and suddenly swapped to semi can pi$$ it out and have other issues though.

That could have happened on my old engine (but that's another story).
Different garage - both experienced with VW & older vehicles :-)
My van is back in the VW garage (after running in miles with oil in the wells under the spark plugs on the passenger side - hoping its not too serious

Push rod tubes often (ok - regularly :rofl ) leak - its a vw thing - marking their spot.

Can be changed for telescopic ones - so can be fixed relatively easily :-)

If you go down the new engine route, be careful. Plenty of halfwits refurbing them and gearboxes.
