Please disagree its what a forum is about.
my experience of overheating rears was a car not a T25 so may not be relevant perhaps ot had different circuits
should be pretty easy to establish if they are binding.

Hmm bent brake plate shep, maybe your welded plate isn't straight?

I'd be astounded if it was!

Sounds promising, I'll double check whether their binding and getting hot.

Just to second ... over adjusting rears can definitely cause this...

Cheers for the reassurance, as it happens I've not had chance to look but I'm pretty sure this is what I've done.

Thanks to this post I have hopefully solved a niggle on my pop top
brakes are a bit spongy
I bleed them and they are fine for an hour then spongy, even the next day when you set off not bad enough to be a problem but need another pump on heavy braking.

I have done lots of work recently so thought I'd got air in and not bled properly but it loks like one drum.was rubbing
stopped today and one was too hot to touch
wheel off in a petrol station backed adjuster off and will bleed that wheel again.

I noticed when I last bled the back on monday the fluid was slightly cloudy I bet its this, once overheated its ruined

Update, does appear over adjusted handbrake resulted in brake fluid 'boiling'.

I came to this conclusion as I initially fitted new shoes and adjusted brakes up to what I felt was correct, then adjusted handbrake but found the connecting piece was corroded.

Sourced a replacement but when fitting I had the van on the ramps rather than on stands so when I adjusted the handbrake I couldn't spin the wheels to assess the 'drag', obviously I over adjusted the handbrake cable which in turn caused overheating.
slacked off the adjuster and all's been well.

Had these exact same symptoms. I (over)adjusted the rear brakes before MOT. It was mentioned as an advisory-nearside rear brake binding. First long run since MOT resulted in an interesting moment on the motorway when I needed a double pump to slow down (needed a new pair of boxers too)! No problems later when I was driving slower on A roads.

Will avoid motorway and keep the speed down on the way home tomorrow and readjust brakes when I get home.

Old brake fluid will boil more easily than fresh due to absorbed water. Bear that in mind when having spongy pedal problems.
