That does look nasty! But.... there may be plenty of life left in it before it opens up totally - depends upon whether it continues through the valve seat as well. Better to replace sooner rather than later though, it isn't as though it is a job you want to revisit if you can avoid it.

I took a jx head in a worse state than yours Steveo to an engine reconditioning company who said that if it didn't leak,it was ok!!
I asked about the cracks in the pre cups, they said " now problem "( in Spanish)
I did run it for a bit ( until I got a "SB" engine )
