Ha :) yes. read a lot on here about the buzzer of doom! for a vehicle that appears so basic they sure do throw up some interesting problems!

Better than nowt I suppose :D
From experience I would be checking my electric gauge against a mechanical one.
Just to be sure it's calibrated ok.
Most garages offer a wet gauge test

i have thought about that. it's going in to my 'friendly' mechanic guy for a spot of welding so will get him to do a test on it while it's there.
as a general comment, i've owned it for 5 years now and it gets used every day for work (gardening) and is also my 'social' driver too and it's been stupidly reliable, it gets 2-3 oil & filter changes a year and air filter once a year and apart from the usual things like bulbs, brake pads, wheel bearings and tyres the only real problems have been a broken starter motor (arm to bendix gear snapped!) and a fuel pump issue which has been solved by a one way valve in the fuel line

I'm probably going to regret saying that! :lol:
