Agreed. Had a complete nightmare with mine recently & in the end had to tap it to M18. Glad I did as I'm now confident it won't fail me halfway down the motorway at the start of a three week holiday.

yes good valve I paid that for a pack of 5 but it's the plug I'm interested in, where do you get one to fit, head size is very specific, 23mm OD really is the limit?

Maybe but no dims of head, what's with the french and their love of square holes, things long since moved on to six sided holes

This is what I fitted.
E D I T.. Forgot to mention, I filed about 1mm off the OD & used an M17-22mm copper washer which had to be 'encouraged' to fit. (Basically shaved a wee bit off the inside with a small round file).

Thanks for all the replies. Last time I looked it was just itchyfeet who confirmed my fears. So thanks for all your comments and ways forward. I too will worry that it could fail at the wrong time so will pull it apart but will wait till winter. What I won't ever know is how long it has been like this. Long trip coming up so will check repatriation cover. Am assuming tapping out the only option.
Booked in to a local guy who has a big piece of kit to suck out the oil. I've spent too much on new toys recently [WINKING FACE]
