OK gent, last question. Can I just use the existing horn wires down to the relay and new wires from relay to horn ?

I must have gone invisible.
Oldiebut goodie wrote:You would still need to uprate the horn push contacts and the earth from the horn if not using a relay. A relay would be simpler by utilizing the stock wiring+ horn push and then running the uprated wire to the relay and horn.

Sorry OBG. Yep I missed it. I'll do that then much less hassle.

Better to leave original horn push for a basic horn then have a dash horn button (with relay) labelled "Hi Bro" or "I'm peed off" - depending what sort of horn you choose :)

I've got a klaxon "ooogaa" horn my son has access to at the front for when he sees other campers. Gives them something to do ;)

The nautilus horn has arrived. Does any one have a good suggestion for siting it. GoWesty put it behind a light. I want to keep this a simple as possible is the there an easier place as I want to use as much of the existing wire as possible?

Does seem the simplest place where did you put the relay? I don't want to to get wet

I've got mine next to the horn, been like that for 8-9 years, never had a problem.

I'm afraid you won't get 8 or 9 years out of that elastic strap - 2 years max.

Hahaha

I do have an alternative, but haven't got round to putting it on yet. I'd be happy and surprised if I got two years out of it.

Just stops (not very well) the spare sliding around too much and the bottle jack bouncing about.

Made a right f-up of fitting it. I was going to put it behind the passenger light but forgot the space was used already. I then decided to drill out the old mount but couldn't get the welded nut off after. I then drilled a hole next to it but because the alarm is mounted by a square bolt access to the back nut is a nightmare and after a few hours of losing skin off my fingers, sockets and nuts and my temper I cable tied the alarm on at a temporary measure. Wiring was a doddle and the horn is perfect an friendly parp with a dab and a real blast held down.

I made an easy job unnecessarily complicated. That bar with hole at each end is prefect. Does it have a name so I can buy one. I thought the alarm had to go higher to escape the water but if your has been working like that for years it must be fine
