Does your existing radio have a aux in facility. Mine had, so I just bought a standard 3.5mm aux cable and downloaded the radioplayer app to my iPhone and now I have a dab radio for the cost of cable.

And potentially excess data charges, fully accepting it depends on your contract.

However, and to link back to an earlier question, I think (based on gut rather than science!) that DAB coverage is rather better than 3G/4G so even if data usage isn't a problem you may get more reliable signal via DAB. FWIW I have DAB in my van and main car and both have constant signal on the station I want pretty much everywhere and retune seamlessly as i move around (certainly better than when I had DAB a few years ago).

Caveat: I am on Vodafone, some mobile phone companies may actually provide coverage other than in central London!!!!

I have a portable DAB which I can route to input on head unit, or, as its more often used, on batteries in the back ;)

Hi LeeME3

I appreciate your concerns over data costs and signal reception. Perhaps I should have said that my van is only used occasionally and would not warrant a DAB radio, or that the radio stations available on the radio player app outweigh what's currently available on DAB in my area.

DAB? Radio streaming? :rofl
No coverage up here for DAB and 3G is rare/patchy.
Good old analogue FM all the way for us. :run
