It`s the springs that set the ride height, not the shocks. Adjustable kits have adjustable damping on the shocks, not adjustable height springs. Your `van would sit exactly the same on the drive with no shocks on it. The AVO kit from Baxter sits correctly because HE had AVO modify their spring kits so the `van would sit right. He was talking to Jamex I believe, to try and get them to look at making the springs so they do actually drop the correct amount fron and rear. :)

If you check out the pic. of my `van in the pics. section, you can see that it sits pretty reasonably, I think it will be about dead level when I get all the stuff in the back for a week away :) Food, drink, more food, more drink, outdoor stuff, outboard motor, fishing tackle, drink, etc etc. Also when the boat is hooked on as well I`m certain it will sit flat :)

Yep I see what your saying. So sound advise would be get a cheap as chips kit and 25 breeze blocks for the back, It all comes clear in the wash. All jokeing aside I can see that its all about the springs and not how much you can adjust your shocks. A mind field Im sure you would agree....A bit like what wheels fit....Dont get me started.

A bit of an update.
I spoke to the importers of Jamex toady, and they are aware of the nose down stance, I had mentioned it a while back to them.
So, they have informed the factory, and the factory are addressing the issue, and in the not too distant future there will be some alternative rear springs to give an even drop.
Once the modified items are with the importer they are going to send me a set to appraise for them, once happy they will be for sale.
I can't give a time scale on this as yet.
I still have a healthy stock of the Jamex, and I think that once the different drop thing is sorted they will sell really well as a budget kit as the only niggle is the slight difference of drop.

So, there you go, Brickwerks sorting "pooh" for you lovely people again.

It is appreciated, mine now sits nice and level and handles well.

Geting the ride height is right is just the superficial part - its much more important to ensure it drives/rides well - if you can only stretch to a budget kit, stick with Simons Jamex and have the geometry set up correctly afterwards.

Where was your van's a***/backside/bottom/prat before? I believe that my panel's on the original VW springs, & its a*** is too low, at least when the van's unladen. I'd love to have it level.

Please tell - it would be a useful reference.

Hi Smithie . . .
AVO set-up is probs the one to go for if you can stretch to just short of 400 chunks. adjustable dampers and a very reputable name. Jus wish i could afford em :?

Yes mine sat lower at the back before. I think that panels may have slightly different spring lengths or loadings (not sure which?).
Read somewhere that springs have a coloured mark to identify the type.

I think that velles etc. sit prettty level. Possible cheap, insurance friendly remedy?

I'm sure someone else may be able confirm/dismiss?
