Not having a lot of luck with it are you? It's not close to you but definitely closer than Brickwerks, Campershack (AJ Simmo) would be my first port of call, especially as it's a 2.1 and especially as you've already spent a lot on it. Sorry I can't help but best of luck and good on you for keeping the thread going.

Thanks for the recommendation. They may be a little too far away to be practical, but I'll certainly bear them in mind. I'm going to try Les Rampton at Bullibarn in Essex, who did the bodywork for me 10 years ago when I lived down that way. At least he's likely to know who to ask locally!

Have you looked at S T Engineering in Haslemere? Not too far.

Humour me.

Why? The leads are new, and the problem predated them.
I couldn't get the bottom of my MV running like a dog's dinner. I changed everything: AFM, thermostat and housing, all switches, Alternator, all connections, battery, Earth's, plugs, HT leads and still ran like crap (40mph top speed and shuddering but would occasionally snap out of it so I knew my van was still in there somewhere!). Anyway, one early morning I limped up the A1 to see AJ at the campershack to get to the bottom of it. After 3 hours of tests, probes, strobes and cups of tea eagle eyed Andrew spotted an errant spark arcking off the engine block to the sheath on the HT lead. Seeing as those sheaths are there purely to prevent interference with your AM radio signal he promptly whipped them all off and when we restarted the van it purred like a kitten. Problem completely solved!

Good news. When my van was with him he stripped the shields off as a matter of course. It's goid to see his rationale proved with your previously poor running van.

How have you been getting on with this? Curious to know if you've made any progress.
