Maybe a CO2/methane alarm would be in order.... so window don't get blown out... then nothing would stick.

Like everything there are pros and cons
On the pro side the thermo mats keep the van nice and dark...longer lie ins and warmer in winter and cooler in the heat. Sometimes they do become unstuck during the night and its uasually the bit that lets the sun in at 6 on a summers morn and catches you right in the face as you open your eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For me the downside is putting the buggers up...pain in the a*** they are.
Curtains are so mach easier but then let more light in in the morn.
I use a combination of the two however....best of both worlds

Blacked out windows and curtains at mo, got double thicknesss on rears n sides tho to keep lite out.
Had a start recently i woke up (in me pants) opened the side window for a peek n a bloke was there staring in looking thru the window trying to look thru the glass - scary!! He didnt see me i hope...

I have thermo mats,and im not sure about them.
Total pain in the a*** to put up,and the suckers keep comming off.
I think i am going back to curtains.

Just got a full set of Bacofoil goodies:
Mats for all windows, plus a wrapper in the same stuff to go round the westy canvas from Brickwerks.
Will let you know the outcome after our first outing.
Just need an Eber and we are set for 365 camping
