Sorry to high jack this thread , but is it possible to fit the original plastic water pipes without removing the tank ? , these are being fitted to a air cooled van so no need to remove any old ones ?

Any advice would be greatfull as I'm about to fit the water cooling system to my t25 ready for a engine conversion in the next few months , think iv got all I need so just need some extra info if possible

I'm by no means an expert on these vans being a newish owner of one, but having done the job once as per this thread I would doubt it.
Removing the tank (first time for me) took under an hour working alone and that included jacking up the van etc. Its very easy and I'm glad I did because I found a few things that needed fixing with the tank out. Gave the tank itself a coat of paint on the top surface and also the chassis in that area to treat surface rust, renewed the breather pipes, clipped up a couple of loose brake pipes, wire brushed handbrake cable and gave it a coat of grease.

Ok cool , good shout I suppose as the van is new to me aswell so be a good time to start getting used to what I'm working on now ,, thanks as I prob would of tried it with the tank in and caused myself unnessasery agro

You to remove the tank to remove the air cooled heater box.
