Hi,i changed the fuel pump and rod a few days ago it was 2mm short, but sadly didn't make a difference, already cleaned the filter in carb and changed the inline one. The tank is new so the fuel is pretty new. Im pretty sure someone has put solid lifters in. If I win lotto tonight itl be going the crusher.

Still cutting out. got worse now, it drives about 100yards then stops, wont restart for about 4/5 mins (turns over good). Swapped carb from another van, dizzy from another van, swapped coil, had new petrol pump and rod,new ht (king lead).Tank is new as well as inline filter. power(12volt) to carb is there.
Before swapping carb I took top off carb again after it had stopped and failed to start, bowl had very little fuel in?Any ideas.?

You did check the fuel delivery when you fitted the pump and rod?

On turnover there should be healthy squirts of fuel into a jar

Got back to looking at the van today, had someone with me to lend a hand, so much easier ie. turning the ignition key etc. Thought id start with the obvious , didn't check this before as it had just had a brand new fuel tank on (blown out before fitting) and a new inline filter that still looked spotless with about 4 /5 gallons of new fuel in. took pipe of tank and filter to double check pipe hadn't collapsed, then immediately noticed the inlet stem of filter was blocked solid, this was hidden by the rubber fuel pipe. couldn't believe it. runs like a dream now.

Lo and behold, didn't think I'd ever say this but a similar situation to yours was posted on facebook a little while ago. Same problem, symptoms and cure. Some chap diagnosed it straight away. One to remember for future reference.

Hi all

Last year brought a T25 water cooled with a DG engine. I've just had it resprayed, just picked it up and sounds really bad on the offside of the engine? LOUD tappet noise! Read a few blogs could this be oil starvation and will it go away, the engine pulls well and prior to the respray it was ok, it has oil in the engine, I've read about hydrolic tappers?

Any one help? Cheers

Honestly give it a good thrash, get it proper hot and it should be fine.
Replace the oil and filter too.

As above.. Take it for a ten mile drive
Type tappet noise in the search and you will see that it is not oil starvation, just your van telling you to use it more often.

If I start my van just to move it for a few minuites the tappets will be noisy next time I start.
If I start it I leave it running until the temp guage is up to normal (10 mins or so) and its fine next start.
