8) because its a big job ? but once you have done it it makes you feel good about your self??? and a big smile on your face so you.... drop the steering/speedo/wires/air vents split the heater clean it paint it then all put it all back again and then hope it all works again brill it does and if so thing else goes wrong not a problem because been there and done it before :ok well done thats part of having a vwt25 so you work on it and learn or help others the forum and wiki is the biggest manual you can have...

I'd highly recommend that anyone thinking of pulling the dash out considers mounting speaker pods under there. Theres masses of room with dash out and they sound a whole lot better than door speakers.

You've mentioned that before, now I've got new door cards I'm thinking of going that way - any recommendations on models?

yes good point ive done the middle one its the best speaker in the van right in the middle when the all the holes are above the ash tray you put the screws though the holes already there :D

I found you could mount them either side, right underneath (forget middle grill). For some reason the sound isn't lost by the dash at all. I'm not sure why - perhaps it bounces back off the windscreen. Can't recommend any since mine were from a boot sale, but any pods that can handle it without rattling.

ive got 2x ie 1xeach in the doors and changed them for better big ones and used the old one for the middle cause the holes already there so job done :ok still sounds good 8)
