I believe I must have a mechanical pump (somewhere!) on the engine.

  of course! I havent been in the engine for a while...

Has anyone come across the grommets for the top of the tank; As in the ones that seal the spare hole?
The one below part 15. The hole next to the T-Piece which has the balance pipe on.

The second hole on the top right of the tank is for the breather pipe from the filler neck, so there should be a grommet with a hole in the middle (the same as the balance pipe grommets), rather than a blanking grommet. It's this one.

Hi Smosh - Good luck with the fuel hose replacement. I'm also planning to do this very shortly and was looking at the same kit.

I'd definitely be interested to hear how it went, what the kit is like and any hints and tips you have after completion. Photos would be very useful as well!

The kit worked well, only gripe is that there wasn't a hose from mechanical pump to carb.

Yep, I bought this on in the Spring. A top-quality kit with everything needed plus spare fixings just in case and grommets too. It makes the job pretty fool-proof.

Is it item number 17 on your drawing ? Looks like it terminates on the end of the breather.

It's to stop crap coming in the breather. In the US the breather tubes joined a charcoal filter to stop emissions escaping. In Europe this wasn't part of the requirements but we did get the floppy ears of don't seem to do much.

I found one of those when replacing a split breather pipe. Now I know its purpose!
