Club 80-90 Forums

I have a feeling I'm going to be looking for one of these engines very shortly.

In terms of donor vehicles for an SB/RA, I'm aware of Golf Mk2, Jetta Mk2, Passat B2, Passat B3, Audi 80 and Audi 90. Are there any others that I could be looking out for?

Can we use an engine from any of these, or are there insurmountable differences re engine mounts and the like that would prevent engines from certain vehicles being used?

What kind of price range should I be looking to pay for one of these engines?

I had seen that in an earlier post, but thanks anyway. Generally I think the internals etc are the same across all the installations. Since I'll probably be using all the ancilliaries from our JX the fitting / location of these is also less relevant.

The thing that I don't know however is whether the mounting points are common? If I can only find an engine from an Audi 80 or Passat then would that mean I need some form of adaptor to make it fit the JX engine bars?

I have seen a couple of posts in the past about which ones have the correct mounting holes but it would take a good search to find them. Might even have been on the Yard.
