The welding was done by one garage and they didn't really tackle much beyond what was questionable on the MOT- looking at before and after pics you're right that the seam looks worse... The spray job after welding was just a cheap way to cover new panels & didn't involve any body work (they were going to do it white again but said an exact match might be tricky so I requested the blue) Seat belt plates were reinforced? allegedly... I 'm going out to the drive now for some quality Van time I will have a look under wheel arch at the dangly bits (sadly not a euphemism)
I stumbled across the buying guide recently...really shoulda read that first eh?
Can she be saved do you think?

Of course!
Obviously I haven't seen it in the flesh, but if it past an MOT, and you intend to carry on with the body in a none bodgy way ( which costs money, or time, or both!) then it will just get better.
Once your happy its safe , use it for what it was bought for, having fun!
I'd would say though,just beware of leaving stuff too long (like I did) because it is not going to get better on its own.
