Try adding some fibre into the coolant if your worried about the blockage?

I had similar issues for yonks. Spent £100s with specialist and not fixed. Similar to what Ghost describes, I finally found the vent off the valve on the thermostat bonnet was blocked with scale. Therefore air was still in there and expanded significantly more that the water when heated, pushing the coolant through the expansion tank and out of the top tank. New bonnet (a flush and the right pink antifreeze), and the problem was solved.

I don't suppose the guy from Northwich would come out anyone got any recommendations close to Stockport?

Which flushing liquid do you suggest. I have new pink fluid and therm from BK.
I have the same problem. The van temp goes down when the heater is on but I have the oversized rad from BW fitted but still overheats when heater set to cold and driving at 60.

well after waiting many weeks Bert went off to Brickwerks yesterday morning
So far, among other stuff, they have found a duff thermostat which we bought new and replaced less than 12 months ago. I won't go to the "other place" to get spares in the future! Have been really missing him this summer but hopefully it could be a bright sunshiny Bert driven autumn. Keep your fingers crossed

That sounds like progress. To warn others, which company did you buy the duff thermostat from?

Bert is just back from his second visit to Simon the West Yorkshire Wizard at Brickwerks. I am a very happy camper. They have done a vast amount of work on him he even has nice new stainless steel coolant pipes front to back. As is normal with these vans you fix one thing only to show up another but fingers crossed we shall have some happy motoring for a while. He is booked in again next February to sort out some not so urgent electrical stuff. I couldn't recommend the garage more highly.
