There's vw mechanics around in sussex - dougs vw emporium in worthing for example. I would offer to help but I know nothing of the petrol engines, I have a diesel. If it doesn't drive I know a place in billingshurst you can get a half days trailer hire for £50. Where is mid sussex?

Clearly it does drive, I just can't read.. Leave it, they aren't meant to work perfect. When they need the trailer it's time for the mechanic! :)

Thanks mate. Yeah drives lovely just tends to stall for the first mile or so when cold.

Choke not on sufficiently or not working. I'd concentrate on that. If air filter and plugs not changed in living memory replace those as they're relatively cheap. Check that all small hoses fit snugly
