Not sure if you plan on having cupboards but the best light mod I have done is to stick these sort of led strips (which are as cheap as chips) inside each cupboard and wired to switch on when the door opens;

It's a little bit of joy whenever I open a cupboard at night now and the inside is bathed in a soft light ..... bliss!!

I hadn't thought about light in a cupboard. Good point! I am having one unit and the cupboard above the cab so could use something like that. I'm a bit dubious about ordering from China; mainly quality and safety of the product. Surely something like that could be run round the inside roof of the van.

Pics as promised. Will try to take some more at night. Our leisure battery is in the bottom of the wardrobe and wiring is in the corner of the wardrobe.
In our old van we had the cheap stick on battery LED lights in the cupboards, gave enough light to see, didn't have a 12v system, and just used a largerv one hanging off the roof vent handle.

Those pictures are really helpful thank you. My plan is to put the leisure battery under the seat but after seeing your pics I now need to start thinking about where to put the fuse box, battery charger and maybe the mains outlet bits and pieces. As I am having a full width seat/bed and having a single unit to house a removable cooker and cool box I don't really want to use the inside space for too much wiring etc as that space is limited. I will need to have a good think about this one. I have seen people with the fuse box under the drivers seat I think. Only a plus note I have dug out the box of electrical parts that came with the van. There are a few bits in here I can use. I think that's a water pump there, won't be needing that so may flog it if it works. Not sure what the blue and red things are. Look like battery terminal covers?

Sorry - missed this. Yes, these are the only interior lights I use. I have a strip of LEDs in the pop top, but I only use those 'for show' or for when there are people camping up there. The ceiling lights are quite bright enough to cook by, and to read in bed. They're right above the bed seat, so that's where they're brightest. You might want to brighten up the sink end a bit I guess, but it's still good enough to see to wash up for instance.

You've probably worked out what the blue and red things are by now, but if not, they're quick release battery connectors.
