I know you said you checked the battery, but have you tried putting it on charge overnight and reconnecting? I had the same symptoms (I have already changed the starter bush), charged battery & it's been fine since. My thoughts are that the radio was draining the battery as it has a little standby light on it. I've since taken the front panel off.
