I have a broken clock and a kmh speedo. The light switch in the binnacle is very stiff and the dial lights are pretty dismal (but useable). I cannot see the temp guage without dipping my head.

I'm going to go for one of these when pennies have turned into pounds again, it's fairly high on the list too. looks reliable and reminds me of my T4

My upgraded dash is now fully up and running and has recorded almost 1000miles. It's definitely the way forward for Type 25 owners with faulty dash instruments (a large proportion, I'll bet). It's quite startling at first to get in the van and be confronted by modern instruments that actually work, especially at night when they light up that lovely blue... :D

Andy at Syncrosport was incredibly helpful in sorting out initial niggles, which were actually problems with the van's electrics rather than the upgraded instrument panel.

I also upgraded to a "new" dashboard at the same time, painted with Rustoleum to match the bodywork, and went my own way when it came to repositioning the switches from the old binnacle. At Andy's suggestion though, I went for a Golf hazard flasher switch in the steering column shroud, using a part with the switch hole, available from Brickworks (though currently out of stock).

I still intend to fit two extra small gauges at each side of the main instruments (for LPG level and oil pressure) but am currently taking advice on how to make the holes..

If I have any criticism at all it's that the clear polycarbonate front cover can suffere from reflections but it's such a step forward from what was there before it seems churlish to mention it!

See pics for an idea of how good this now looks. It's the future!

I started to fit one last weekend and it is not that complicated. I have taken photos through out the installation and should be able to post them once I have finished.
