I think they do require filament bulbs to work. LEDs not being generally dimmable, they just cut out as opposed to fading out. I guess there's a capacitor in there to hold the charge once power is cut- perhaps that needs a higher load on it to operate properly.

Can you swap in a filament bulb to test?

I think I've got some bulbs i can swap in place to see if thats the case, I've got led bulbs that dim on the dash so i was running on the assumption they would also.

I'll give it a go and see if that does it.

Maybe I got the wiring wrong.
