same problem for me too, couldn't stop them flapping about no matter what I tried so ended up buying a pair. Jobs a gud un! 
I bought a new pair but the problem soon returned. If you take the mirrors apart and put a fibre washer in between the 2 bits that rotate then tighten it all back up it is as good as gold.
