I will start with the ebay options and hope they will do the job.

Use of van regularly is your best bet.
That said, if it does need laying up for any length of time, you could fork out on relatively expensive de humidifiers etc, or you could buy some cat litter (the cheap scented stuff seems to work best) and pour on into some knotted tights/legs and make sausage shaped moisture traps. They work on boats so can't see why they won't work in ya van!

AND, if you need a pee REALLY badly......

I remember driving through yam yam land a couple of years ago and being stuck in traffic. Would have given anything for one of those. Luckily there was an empty lemonade bottle handy and no overlooking lorries!

Thanks Fairwind, I do run the camper for about an hour a day, with heating and camp stove at full blast. I will also add some cat litter, mainly as I don't drink lemonade and may be caught short in yamyam land, I have no idea where that mystical place is but with my sense of direction I will most likely end up there with a full bladder.

As boats are watertight..and therefore a damn sight more airtight than a draughty van dehumidifiers do work.

Would you use a dehumidifier with the window open..no of course not.
But a t25 has many air vents and holes...

I recall how quick the dampervan sank on top gear.

Probably not a good idea to run the stove (assuming it is gas-fired). It will likely produce much more water vapour as a combustion product than it will remove.

I just bought a big collander of ebay

and put it in a basin and filled with calcium chloride.

Much more effective as alot bigger than those tiny ones you buy.

Even when it was below zero the other morning the relative humidity in camper was only 66%.

Heating is great for reducing relative humidity but as soon as it cools down it goes back to where it was before unless you get some fresh dry air through as well.

No choice. Ran out of options. Not nice. I even considered aiming for the step and hope no one noticed the leak....

In the 80s I took a boat out to radio caroline. There were about 8 of us. One of them had evidently been busting since we left and didn't think to ask the Skipper if there was a toilet. He quietly (with his back to us) pee'd into a bottle and gently dropped the bottle over the side. To this day I have NO idea why he didn't just pee over the side!

Me, I just used the toilet like everyone else.

I had a beard back then!

I have been running my camper a lot more now and am eagerly awaitng my ebay purchases, to see if they will assist, Im also looking at buying one of the just kampers covers, not sure how good or effective it will be.
