You don't need the oil cooler a 2.1 will run great without. I used twin 40s on mine as they are tune able and give a bit more? The worry with using an old pierbugger is air leakage problems they suffer from and not being able to rejet them for you bigger engine. If you end up with a dj running lean you will blow holes in the pistons.

It's not a bigger engine.
It has the same bore, but just a longer stroke, all that changes is the amount of fuel charge drawn into the cylinder... there's just more of it. The fuel/air ratio is the same as the DG.
My DJ has run on a pierburg for several years, no holes and excellent power.

:oops: ive started a war :shock: so it should be ok yes so im a bit :? about the petrol side super 10degs or normal 5degs before tdc how do you check that if it running ok now should be alright yes is there some marks to go by :oops: thanks simon

The DJ has it's own marks on the crank pulley they are 10 deg BTDC (V notch) and TDC (smooth notch), there are no other marks, so to set it at 5 deg you would need a strobe capable of telling you when 5 deg BTDC is achieved.

Kev my tiny mind still struggles to understand this one and I am convinced you are correct as there are so many 2.1s out there with peirbuggers on them. :ok
